Muddy Puddles sold to TP Toys
TP Toys, a manufacturer/marketer of trampolines and other outdoor toys, acquired Muddy Puddles, a cataloguer of outerwear for children. Muddy Puddles will maintain its operations from Kingsbridge, Devon.  
 

Cdiscount in admininstration
Cdiscount has fallen into administration The discount etailer, which sells in Ireland and the UK, was launched two years ago by French discounter Cdiscount SA, which owns 50 percent of the company. Cdiscount has debts of €8.2 million (£7.4 million).

Otto Group acquires Quelle Russia
Otto Group is adding to its Russian holdings with the acquisition of Quelle Russia from insolvent German cataloguer/retailer Arcandor. Otto is also purchasing the rights to the Quelle brand and related brands for Germany and other Central and Eastern European countries. The parent company of Freemans Grattan Holdings, Otto has been in the Russian market since 1990.


Aurum renegotiates debt
Aurum Holdings, the parent company of jewellery merchants Mappin & Webb, Watches of Switzerland, and Goldsmiths, is preparing to convert a portion of its debt into equity, in order to cut its borrowings from £97 million to approximately £55 million.


October direct sales up 18 percent
Like-for-like October retail sales were up 3.8 percent from last year, according to the British Retail Consortium-KPMG Sales Monitor for the month. Nonfood nonstore sales rose 18 percent from the previous October. 


Marshalls signs with Sanderson
SE Marshall & Co, the parent company of Marshalls Seeds, will be installing the Elucid multichannel commerce system from Sanderson. The contract was signed at last month’s ECMOD Exhibition. 


ECMOD2010 and Catalogue Exchange 2009/2010 events
ECMOD2010 will take place on 6th and 7th October at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre and the annual ECMOD Awards on April 14th at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, see www.ecmod360.co.uk for details. Meanwhile, there are just a few places left at the Catalogue Exchange's exclusive international trading event which takes place in Devon on Thursday 19th November. The International Market Forum is being held at IDS' Newton Abbot premises. Training days have also been announced in Bristol and Leeds on 28th January and 10th March respectively.
