200 head office jobs are set to go at Littlewoods as it moves to streamline its entire marketing operation. Consultation has commenced with staff over which jobs will be affected but the cuts are expected to be primarily in catalogue production.

Findel fronts Choices deal for Webb Group

Findel has bought the local and direct businesses of the video rental & DVD chain ChoicesUK out of administration on behalf of the Webb Group in which it has a 30 per cent stake. The Webb Group will integrate the ChoicesUK online, mail order and wholesale distribution units with its existing operation and assume responsibility for the contracts of some 300 staff. The future for the 139 ChoicesUK retail outlets which employ some 1400 staff remains uncertain.

Multi channel sportswear business Fat Face increased its sales by 38 per cent for the 53 weeks to June 2nd. It achieved total sales of £111.1 million and also saw its operating profit rise by 62 per cent to £21.7 million, excluding exceptional items and amortisation.

Asos has recruited for New Look head of marketing Hash Ladha to the position of marketing director. Ladha will lead direct marketing, PR and advertising sales as well as oversee the Asos customer service team. Asos has also relaunched its menswear site Asosman.com.

Mark Cheshire has joined JD Williams as its customer service director. Its fulfilment subsidiary Zendor has named Christine Ashworth to the role of head of customer service and leader of its call centre team.

John Ashton has left Figleaves.com and has joined Hamleys as its head of direct.
