Adili founder buys Spirit of Nature Adili founder Adam Smith and business partner James Akin-Smith have purchased the assets of cataloguer/etailer Spirit of Nature and relaunched the business. A website was soft-launched this week to sell a selection of eco-friendly nappies and other environmentally friendly household goods. At its height, Spirit of Nature had turnover of £1.5 million and Smith aims to nurture the business back to health. Spirit of Nature will reintroduce a gifts catalogue in time for Christmas.

Aurora Fashions posts growth Aurora Fashions, the parent company of Coast, Karen Millen, Oasis, and Warehouse, reported sales of £661 million for the 11 months to 30th January. The group’s first annual results also saw net debt reduce to £109 million, ahead of schedule. Online sales were up 32 percent, growing to £42 million in the period. International sales were also up—by 10 percent—and now represent 34 percent of the group’s total retail sales.

Wiggle selects Latitude for international SEM campaign Bicycle retailer Wiggle is investing in paid-search marketing and has hired Latitude Digital Marketing to run its search engine optimisation and pay-per-click campaigns. The deal will see Latitude’s multilingual staff in ten countries work across Wiggle’s overseas markets.

Mothercare invests in social media Maternity and nursery products retailer Mothercare is investing in social media. It has hired Diffusion to develop an “online engagement strategy” that will see it bolster its presence on parenting blogs, forums and social-networking sites. The agency will also work on increasing the profile of Mothercare’s social network Gurgle in the national and lifestyle press.

John Lewis launches commercial furnishings service John Lewis has launched a corporate sales service called John Lewis Solutions for Business, which provides commercial furnishings for use in show homes, halls of residences, hotel bedrooms, and more. Orders are fulfilled using existing stock.

M and M Direct increases mobile conversion rates Following a recent mobile marketing campaign, discount apparel cataloguer M and M Direct is considering expanding its use of mobile promotional offers, potentially taking its campaigns overseas. During the past four months, M and M Direct worked with mobile marketing agency Sponge to send active customers in the UK promotional text messages driving them to the M and M website. Six percent of customers receiving the text messages went on to make a purchase.
