Sales up at Next

Sales at its mail order and online division did even better, rising 7.2 percent in the 13 weeks to 1st May 2010. The company says the Directory arm is trading “comfortably ahead of its March range”. …but slump at HMV

Redcats does better than expected

Online sales were particularly strong in the period and now account for 51 percent of total sales in the quarter.

Online shopping better for the environment
The recent e-Customer Service Index survey conducted by IMRG and eDigitalResearch, has shown that more than a third of Brits prefer to shop online. The biggest reason given for buying goods and services online by these individuals was reduced pollution, which was cited by 74.6 percent of respondents. As well as reducing carbon footprint and energy consumption, 53.5 percent of people believe that online shopping provides a wider choice of environmentally friendly alternatives.
